the ending

I have never beaten Black Ops, but I don't feel like the ending was a re-paste, or recycled.

Especially 30 minutes before we were supposed to reach Makarov. Killing him was satisfying IMHO. Finally, some fucking closure.

And the plot holes in MW2? Rectified in MW3. I was surprised, and shocked - the first thing out of my mouth was: "Oh shit! Oh fucking shit! He was there!"

Then I also realized why they kept the MW2 graphics - to bring consistency.

I have a feeling that the next game in the Modern Warfare games will be revamped. But I'll save that for an article that will be posted soon.

good point but in the ending of black ops you choke Dragorvich( sorry if my spelling is wrong) and in the end of MW3 you choke Makarov. So it is quite similar. Whic kinda bugs me cuz the endings r normally so awesome but in MW3 in kinda feels like a repeat of black ops

In COD4, you shot Zakhaev and his guards in the end.

In MW2, you threw a knife at Colonel Shepherd.

At this point ideas are pretty limited. Unless you do combination of actions a la God of War. That's what I got from MW3, I'm not sure if there's a bunch of QTE's before choking Dragorvich.

I think the QTE's and end kill were a stab at Battlefield 3's ending, which in the same light stole Black Ops' style.

My favorite part however is killing the two helicopter pilots - that was the shit.

yeah but it just seems as if they had so many brillant ideas for the story itself, but had none for the ending, so they just used the black ops ending as a cover to disguise it

The thing is, they wanted to put killing Makarov in the hands of the player. I would have wanted that.

When I saw it on the launch trailer, I was excited! Sniping Makarov? Sign me up!

Everyone wanted to have a game where you kill Bin Laden, Makarov is close a version of Bin Laden there is. So, MW3 has been a successful build-up. However, finding the most suitable ending is very tough.

Maybe all those movies spoiled the different types of kills possible... Shooting at helicopter and explode? Done, in Condemned. Rocket ready and shoot at helicopter? Done, in Rambo and many other military movies. I could go on and on...

And I don't think game companies can copy what the government did to Bin Laden, even if it is a fictional character. Lately, the government has been on a roll as to censorship in the media.

So, IW/SG is really trying it's best to find the best ending suitable to the player, and avoiding legal problems at the same time.

Well probably using Bin Laden would outrage the terrorists. but i mean for such a good game i just wanted a better finish. Like someone who is supposed to be dead killing Makarov or something

My theroy is, since MW3 was bounced around between sledgehammer, infward AND ravensoft. they did say they where trying to make it like CoD4/MW2 in multiplay style. idk i can go on forever on this. This game was created in under then less then ideal circumstances to say the least. so its a weak conclusion to a great series.

Hmph. the ending was lazy. i failed to feel the epic impact of FINALLY killing makarov. Unlike cod4 where you felt awesome after kiling zakhaev and shepherd was a great general till he took a knife to the eye.lol. But in mw3 i was kinda like... hurr-ah?

Yeah, somehow I didn't feel completely satisfied with the Makarov kill. I'm excited that I finally killed him, but something was missing there.

I totally agree I mean in mw2 i was like bouncing around the walls with excitement when i illed shepard but with killing makrov it just made me feel like i was kiling dragovich and not one of the most evil cod characters ever.

I mean Makarov was definetely one of the most evil cod characters ever and his death really didn't suit his ways. I mean Shepard wasn't that bad compaired to makarov( even though the bastard took ghost away from) but he had such a brutal ending where as you said carlos it just ruined makarov's character majorly.
