PS3 for PS4?

I only have a PS3 right now and it might take up to a year before I get a PS4. I’m wondering that if I buy COD:AW for PS3, can I add the PS4 version to my account to download later, without having a physical PS4? Can anyone clarify?

I may be wrong, but I think you will still need to buy the PS4 version because they are technically on different systems

That's great news, thanks for sharing the link too. I have a PS3 as well and don't want to get yelled at for a double purchase.

Although I am not a Playstation girl (but I should become one), I heard the PS4 is really worth the money. It also looks super classy and fits in nice small places. It also comes with a lot of free space (which isn't that the problem with everything now a days) and pre loaded games. When I went to my friends house he had a PS4 and told me that they have a new option where you can get free games daily and they were actually good games, for example, battlefield expansions, cool little games, mine craft packages. I thought it was cool since you would normally have to pay about $40-60 for some of those things and they give it to you for free. So I say upgrade to that PS4! It seems legit.

Wow, that's excellent! This way, I'd say I would not bother asking for favors from my parents for a new purchase. It's also pretty much comforting since I get used to my PS3. Thanks a lot!

There is a cross-platform promotion where if you buy a PS3 digital copy, you get a PS4 one, but I'm starting to wonder if it won't be a limited time promotion, like some of the promotions last year.

I'm sure worst case scenario they would just do what they did previously and ask for a simple $5-10 to upgrade, right? That's certainly a pain in the neck but a lot better than either waiting to buy the game flat out or having to repurchase it altogether.

Well, I guess the price upgrade is better than repurchasing. Besides, who cares about costly new purchases anyway. I am also with the impression that it is a limited promotion. It's a selling strategy.

I care about costly new purchases! If money isn't an issue - why are you settling for a console anyway? The only benefit is up front lower cost.

I am one of the ones who took advantage of this upgrade. I like it much better than the version for PS3. I did not want to jump and purchase a console without waiting for the "kinks" to smooth out, as what has happened in the past with these systems. This upgrade works fine on your PS3 and its the same gaming experience IMO.
