For me, I find that 27" is about the right size for my desk and the distance between my monitor and seat, I tried a 32" years ago and it was too hard to play first person shooters as I couldn't see the full screen from that close, you would need to be at least 48"-54" away from the screen or roughly 1.2m-1.4m away, you can get closer with a 27" screen. Also, I am not a fan of curved monitors.

Yea, I am not a fan of curved monitors, per se... I mean, if a monitor is good and has good display I won't NOT get it because it's curved. I just see a curved surface as superfluous that is a Dunsel... Like 3D or touchscreen.. A nice novelty at first but loses it's luster when stacked up against reality..
Although, 3D itself is pretty frakin' awesome.. It's just not seamless in my day to day activities..
