FAMAS vs M16

I just reached lvl 41 yesterday and I used the FAMAS/M4A1 up until then. Now that I can use the M16, is it really better? They both take 3 bullets (1 full burst) to kill with stopping power. I know some people prefer one over the other but is the M16 actually better?

They seem to be very closely matched to me, i haven't noticed one performing better than the other in anything. Pretty much equal i think.

To be honest, I prefer the M16 when I have it. Not sure why to be exact.

I do believe that the M16 does a bit more damage per bullet than the FAMAS, but don't quote me though (at that anyway).

i think there the same there realy is not much of a diffrence but people who are just starting off use famas and if you realy like it just dont swicth if you dont then swicth that easy

I would think there is a difference, why would IW put two guns that are exactly the same in the game?
I've never used either, by the way.

I believe that it is at distance shooting where the guns differ greatly. There is much more "kick" with the FAMAS versus the M16 (NOTE - EDITED: sorry, I typed it backwards the first time) at distance. While hardly noticeable at closer ranges, it really brings itself to bear when shooting across a map.
I have HEARD (again, complete unconfirmed hear-say) that the M16 kills faster without stopping power? With SP, yes, both kill in one FULL burst, but only because the burst is overkill.

If someone wants to video this with a friend to confirm or shoot down, please do.

I know a lot of people that blindly swear by the FAMAS but in reality the M16 is a better gun both by the stats and in game numbers. The M16 does not even need stopping power and is still more effective.

I think that the M16 has better accuracy than the FAMAS although they both seem the same any other way.

M16 is a nice gun, but its not the best. FAMAS isn't good because of the 3 burst ability it has, the power of the gun may be strong, but the accuracy sucks because of that big "bar" that's on top of it. Your cannon is about 2 inches down, so this more or less degrades the accuracy level.

If you don't believe me, this video shows how many shots it would take down an enemy with FAMAS.
