Bolt Rifles - Competitive?

Out of all the gameplay videos I've seen, I was hoping we'd of had a Bolts only video. It was one of my favourite aspects of COD2 and WaW.

Has anyone who has played the game tried the bolts? Are they any good?

Meh, I don't really like bolts, I like weapons with a higher rate of fire due to my poor aiming. I can completely understand the wish to use those if you can aim properly. I agree that they should give bolts their glory.

It's just such a satisfying feeling when you kill someone with a bolt-action iron sight while they're spraying full auto at you.

I've only ever messed with bolts if I was attempting to quick-scope, and as I suck at that certain skill, I haven't bothered with them since then.

It turns out that people think you're cheating if you can snipe them from afar with a bolt-action rifle that's using only iron sights. That's my preference. It's a little more challenging, and reactions are pretty hilarious in some cases.

I have never been fond of the bolt action rifles and tend to keep to the faster guns myself. I'm not sure I have even tried them out. I will have to go play again and see what all the fuss is about. I go for the faster reload so I can get those kills in quick and move on to the next target. I can understand some people liking them as they do require a bit more skill and much less spray and pray.

I enjoyed the bolt rifles. It would be nice to see them in the game again. Hopefully they will in the near future of the game.

I know for a fact there is at least one bolt rifle in Advanced Warfare.

Man, that's some beautiful gameplay. I'd have to assume there are at least two or three bolt rifles in AW. That's how it's been in every other title over the last few years. It'd be a shame to only have one option in that regard. Someone make this game come sooner!

It does take a decent amount of skill to rack up the kills using a bolt rifle. Even if you sit back and camp, the average person is going to die a lot to guns that shoot far more bullets in a split second. Once you master a given bolt rifle, though, things become pretty darn exciting.

CoD2 Bolt only rifles competitive was got my really into CoD back then. Playing on TWL with CAL_TWL mod on servers. No scope attachments just the gun and you.

USR with chrome barrel and thermal scope was what I got my Ghillie suit with. Drift0r did a video on the L115 and said the chrome barrel multipliers got messed up. I'm not sure if this was patched ever.

I tend not to use bolt-action rifles unscoped. They are really hard to use, but just don't pick the double tap perk. You may think it'll be helpful to be able to shoot faster but you'll most likely end up missing your second or first shot and getting yourself killed. Just pick the stopping power perk and take him out in one clean shot.

The challenge is what I like and thrive for. It's very satisfying getting a kill like this.

As far as I can tell they've really limited quick scoping in AW so it's certainly going to be quite a lot harder to use bolts in this game compared to previous Call of Duties. Although they might increase iron sight speed if you remove the scope from the sniper, we'll have to wait and see until the game comes out.

Nothing is more satisfying than shooting a guy with an automatic point blank with a bolt action rifle. The bayonet is nasty too if you miss your first shot. However, your quality sucks without a scope.

uh, CoD 2 didn't have perks, :D and that why back then it was a popular game type, developed a lot more skill overall, because if you could cleanly kill people with one of the three guns back then, you could be op with any gun. :D
