Hello! I was wondering, the pistol you start off with during the Battle Royal in Warzone, if I was to level it up and upgrade it in the gunsmith (put sights on it and stuff) would that be the gun I would get or would it be the standard stock one? Cheers

No. Customization is done from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and used in Warzone via "Loadout Drops" which you can buy from the buy station. However, if you get close to the Loadout Drop, you have a target on your back because everyone in the area can see it.

The reason I ask is that the pistol is called Custom Pistol so that leads me to assume I can customize it for the br game

Stand alone
Well, then, there ya go. The thing is, you can't customize (as far as I know) from gunsmith/loadout to get custom weapons YOU want to use. You can either pick up blueprint weapons from the ground, or buy bluprints from the shop and use it via Loadout Drops as described above.

Suggestion: Buy Modern Warfare.

As a F2P stand-alone PC player, this is false. I can absolutely use GunSmith to build custom weapons to set up custom classes and buy them from Loadout Drops.

If I'm understanding correctly, OP is saying when he first lands from his chute and picks up a weapon, his pistol on the ground is called a "Custom Pistol" and it has the pink hue to it that other Custom weapons get when you loot other players you've killed. So he's asking if he sets up a custom class with that same starting pistol but modified w/attachements, if he will drop from the plane with that same modified pistol w/attachements.

And OP my best guess is no. Everyone drops from the plane with the same "loadout" - that makes it fair. You have to buy a Loadout to get your custom weapons.

I don't have stand-alone Warzone, I have the Modern Warfare disc. So, apologize for the "false" info. But I will now confirm that you can edit from Warzone. And yes, that bolded up there? Correct. Everyone starts with a standard pistol. You have to go find weapons, but whatever you picked up from the drops are blueprints. To get your own weapon in your hands, you'll need loadout drops. So, customize from the gunsmith/loadout to pick it up at Loadout drop.

There, I think I said that best.

The starting pistol is just a standard x16.
When you drop it it's marked as a "player/custom", but it isn't, not sure why it's marked that way.
Everyone starts off with the same handgun.
