Warzone 2.0 audio problems

Hey guys, need some help with audio issues.

I recently built my first PC and everything is great, works as it should, well almost....

I can't seem to get any voice chat output in warzone2

I've got a pair of turtle beach recon 70 headphones with built in mic with a single 3.5mm jack going into a splitter connected to the rear motherboard IO (headset works perfectly fine with my PS4)

Microsoft voice recorder will pick up my voice and play it back fine and so will the steam mic test but as soon as I go in game I get nothing, I can hear game music and other people's voice chat but it won't allow me to respond.

I've got all the settings in the game matching what I've set as defaults in the sound settings in windows 10 and when I go into the mic section with warzone running it tells me that the mic is in use by the game

I've spent a fair bit of money building this rig and it's become really disheartening to power it up every day and try the same "reddit fixes" day after day to no avail

Really hope someone can help me

Ty in advance

Ps. I even bought a desk mounted mic with a usb connection and it still wouldn't work

Congrats on your first build!! Always exciting to do.

There are some obscure settings that could be causing the problem ingame.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Audio
  3. Master Volume
  4. Show More
  5. Voice Chat Volume
Check the volumes in there.

Another thing that I have happen sometimes is that in Windows itself it will load several different drivers and this can be checked by clicking on the little speaker icon in the bottom right corner on your desktop window. When this opens up check and see what driver or drivers are showing. Select the one that you want to be using. Sometimes I have to go to Control panel and literally disable or delete rogue drivers that get installed.

Also, please post up your full specs for better assistance in this!

Also check in your settings to see if some update has set your mic to "Press To Talk" or if it is set to open mic.

so i stumbled upon a fix this morning

turns out that in COD settings the microphone sensitivity slider is backwards, one would think that setting it to 100/max would give you the best outcome (ie more sensitive at picking up noise)

this is not the case, i set it to 1 and instantly my mic worked, name pops up in right of screen like proxy chat and my squad could hear me

P.s @ CascadiaSRL i shared my pc in the builds thread
