1v1 Matchups

Personally, I think that 1v1 matches are extremely underrated. They demonstrate individual skill, with no chance of interference from other players. I always enjoy playing 1v1's in COD titles, yet there is no "proper" game mode for them. What do you think about competitive 1v1 matches? Would you watch them if the existed? Why or Why not? Personally, I would definitely watch 1v1 matches with professionals, because it would most likely be a great place to learn how to develop your skills even more.

I see 1 versus 1 as an okay competition. You see this usually at gaming stores when they have competitions,but you always have to sense if your opponent is screen looking or not. I feel like that team fights are more interesting since the game is a war team game.

I used to be ranked Top 20 in the world for 1v1 in COD4 for Gamebattles. It's ridiculous how good the top guys were. If you couldn't predict spawn from where you just got your kill, you were toast.

At this point I wouldn't play it unless it was Bolt-Action Iron-Sights.

I think it is okay. I'm not against having it as an option, but I prefer team play over on on one any day. I imagine it would be popular to get that quick fix when you don't have time for a longer campaign.

1v1 is okay. I feel that they are way to slow paced and a bit boring, but it doesn't hurt me if it's added to the game.

MW3 just RUINED me as I fell head over heels in love with Faceoff. I'd end up going 30-1 in a TDM match and still losing because my team just wasn't pulling their weight. With FaceOff, I could just hop into 1v1 or 2v2 and not have to worry about other randoms letting you down.

Kinda wish this could be a mainstay in all CoD games so those of us who don't have a full group of 6 on at all times could just depend on ourselves when we choose to.

I would totally be into watching 1v1 matches, and like mentioned above, especially with the pros. I watch some versus game videos and the level of energy between two people competing is awesome.

I feel like the maps would need to be adjusted for 1v1, the vast majority of the maps are far too large and even if they spawn you close you often times would run far away from each other just looking for where the other person is. I think a good balance is 3v3, I mean Call of Duty is more of a team game and if you don't enjoy constantly being put on a bad team there's always free for all.

Yeah the levels would definitely need to be put through some shrinkage. It'll probably never happen just for that reason. Why go through the trouble of including that mode, for a game that most people will only play with more than one person.

A 1v1 game feels a little bit constricted. Widen your scope and get enthralled in team plays. Who enjoy a 1v1 play nowadays anyway?

I don't want it to interrupt traditional multiplayer by any means...but like I mentioned above... sometimes teams just let you down BIG time. I have this problem in many FPS'. You'll get stuck with guys who come in and just completely ignore objectives even though they're playing objective games. You'll get 10, 20, 30+ kills and your teammates will barely break 2 or 3 kills. Sometimes you'll be matched up versus an amazing team, working perfectly together...and you'll have 3 guys being cowardly campers in the back of the map and 1 guy AFK.

It sucks.

So with MW3, it was nice after a ton of those frustrating situations...you could just switch over and only have to depend on yourself or 1 (or 2) friends. Changes things up and alleviates shitty teammates.

AND ON TOP OF THAT ..... again.... when some jerk just talks smack through a few lobbies...you can take him to 1v1, embarrass him ....and shut up right up.

Anyway..doesn't quite matter at this point. It's not in Advanced Warfare.
