Extreme fps lag

Hello everyone. I would like to ask you users for help regarding my situation. My pc consists of an I7-6700K a GTX 1080, 32 GB Ram. Although I am aware that the components are not brand new, I would expect to play in medium details with a constant of at least 200 fps. I got to the point of putting all the details to a minimum and I reach a maximum of 120 fps not fixed, sometimes even dropping to 40. I feel that all the updates have already been made. I hope this post of mine is not useless.

Your specs are good, my previous PC had an i7-3770k at stock with a GTX980 and that was getting a steady 90-100 fps in Modern Warfare, I built my current PC before Cold War launched so have never tried it on that build.

@freakdaddy64 has recently built a PC with a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX2080Ti, he is getting around 190-240fps at high settings, I think your PC would struggle to reach those frame rates even at medium, but you should be able to get above 100, maybe even above 140-160fps.

High network rates can also impact your fps, check your ping rates are below 100 when you next play just to make sure you're not being limited by this.

check your monitor refresh rate and make sure in game settings you have it set for max fps.
