I'm new to gaming. I've played code of war (free from the Apple App Store) on my iMac and wanted a little bit... more. But I really like that short, intense, multi player, online game.

So I bought a PS5, (not the digital one), the COD mw2, COD mw3, and COD black ops 6 games/discs.

I actually took back my first PS5 console because I thought you could just load the game and play, like a DVD video disc. That turned out to be not the case.

My internet download speed is 7.0 Mbps. I've spent over 2 days loading stuff, and I have "5 items installed". With the COD mw2 disc in the drive. I tried to play, and it seems I need to download (6-10 hours for me) yet another item.

Is it just not to be................

It's unfortunate, but that's the life of the gamer today.

It sounds like you have the physical disc of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - so once you installed the game itself, you have to go into COD HQ, and download the actual files. And then, you have to download the campaign/mutliplayer packs... AND THEN YOU NEED TO look for the server updates on the actual game itself.

I recommend getting better internet, because this is the future of gaming today. Microsoft is way over their heads on this. Black Ops 6 is bigger than MWII when it comes to files/optimization. 7.0Mbps is not even nearly enough to play Black Ops 6 with all the EOMM/SBMM A.i. stuff. It's very complicated and until you have good internet, the current crop of games will be a painful experience.

I recommend, and this is me speaking from your shoes: Find Single Player games on PS5 to tide yourself until you have a better internet. I am currently doing this, because this A.I bullshit is mind-boggling.

I will have to explain this to a lot of people, but that's what YouTube is for. I'm not the only person talking about this, a lot of content creators are speaking on this.
